Frequently Asked Questions

Will I have to give up eating all my favourite foods?

The ultimate purpose to eating healthy is to be happy so Alice does not believe in depriving one’s self from indulgences and being on strict elimination diets long term. She’s also hyper aware of complex relationships people have with food and consciously help people improve patterns of disordered eating. In fact, she takes great joy in helping people strike a beautiful balance between eating well and treating yourself once in a while, whether that’s a special comfort food from childhood or socially indulging out in restaurants or through holidays. Her extensive experience helping people through multiple health challenges such as food sensitivities, digestive issues, metabolic dysfunctions and hormonal imbalances, for example, allow her the insight to effectively help people navigate through healthy alternatives to their favourite foods, as well as educate them through differently prepared ingredients.

What does a typical protocol look like?

Alice designs fully customized and actionable plans with dietary and lifestyle recommendations, as well as a therapeutic supplementation program if applicable. She also puts together a personalized meal plan and recipe book based on the most nourishing ingredients for the client’s specific body (and their unique flavour preferences) while considering all their health challenges and goals.

What kind of testing do you do?

As a clinical nutritionist, Alice cannot order blood work, but has access to almost all the other types of private testing including food sensitivity test, hormone panels, hair mineral analysis, stool testing and more! Please consult her about the best testing for you.

Is nutritional counselling covered by private insurance?

It depends on the provider and your plan. A few organizations that have been known to cover my services are: Manulife, iA Financial Group, GreenShield Canada, ClaimSecure Inc. and Blue Cross Alberta. Check with your provider if your specific plan covers nutritionists.
