Seeking a different way to add nutrients to your body? IV nutrient therapy is offered at Optimum Family Chiropractic and can be a helpful way to discover how specific vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants relate to everyday function.
To keep our discussion educational, we’re focusing on the nutrients, the process, and general considerations.
What IV Nutrient Therapy Is
IV nutrient therapy involves delivering vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other nutrients directly into the bloodstream. Because it bypasses digestion, the body can access those nutrients in a higher, clinical dose. These ingredients are widely recognized for their roles in hydration, energy metabolism, immune function, recovery after physical exertion, and the body’s stress response. The benefits can be wide ranging since nutrient status can influence how the body functions day to day. Experiences vary from person to person, which is why education matters.
Keeping the Conversation Educational
A recent client wanted an educational resource online that they could show others, explaining what their treatments were doing and why, without the sales tone they were seeing elsewhere. That insight helped shape this blog so it answers questions in a more practical, transparent way.
How Formulas Are Customized
Of course, no two people have the same health history, schedule, nutrition habits, training load, or stress levels. For that reason, IV nutrient blends are not approached as a preset menu. “Each treatment is customized and compounded to reflect the individual,” says Dr. Erica. That personalized approach also helps keep the experience aligned with clinical appropriateness rather than a one-size-fits-all plan.
A Note About IV Therapy Suitability and Iron Infusions
Before any IV nutrient appointment, it’s important to review medical history and current medications. Certain conditions may affect whether IV nutrients are appropriate, including severe kidney, liver, or cardiac concerns. In many situations, the compounded IV can be adjusted based on what is clinically appropriate for the person.
Iron infusions are a separate category and require additional caution. Iron does not have the same general suitability profile as many vitamin, mineral, and antioxidant based blends. For iron, our clinic needs clear evidence of need, and oral supplementation is usually considered first. If someone has not already tried oral iron, a short trial is often recommended, commonly around three months, before moving forward with an iron infusion.
What a Real World Example Can Look Like
One recent client, an athlete and trainer with a very demanding workout schedule, shared that after a single IV nutrient session their muscle recovery felt improved and they noticed less fatigue during training. Another client, who is a parent of a toddler, had been struggling to cope with the responsibilities of family and work due to constant fatigue, shared that after 1 treatment they noticed that they were no longer needing to nap after work and felt more present with their family.
We have innumerable stories with clients incorporating IV nutrient therapy into their routines and experiencing overall improved wellness. We hope to be able to show you how IV nutrient therapy may be beneficial to you, too.
