Once I go to a chiropractor, will I always have to go?

Our primary focus is to get you back on track with feeling better and comfortable. We want you to be able to move, walk, sit, sleep better. So whether what you are dealing with is preventing you from attending your favorite activity, spending quality time with your friends and family or to do your work.

Once you feel and move better, we often suggest to our patients to do periodic check ups to ensure a strong and well balanced body. That way you avoid falling back into your old movement patterns (that got you in trouble in the first place). We encourage you to see this as maintenance and self care. But at the end of the day, you are the boss and some patients choose to seek care only when the pains come back, and in that case we will always be there for you.

In order to achieve mobility and comfort goals we recommend to start with chiropractic care first to address any spinal and joints

Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?

Chiropractic care can be very gentle and Dr Marie uses many different approaches and techniques to cater to her patients’ needs and preferences.. In order to determine what approach would be best for each patient, Dr Marie will do a postural assessment, mobility and range of motion exam and hands on-palpation to find the source of the pain you are experiencing. Also, if you had a previous chiropractic experience that went well, or perhaps not as well as you would have wished, Dr Marie takes the time to understand your preference to then find the best way to yield the best results for you.

So whether you want a very gentle approach or a more “old school” chiropractic adjustment, Dr Marie always makes sure that you feel comfortable and safe in your care.

Dr Marie has extensive experience adjusting all types of bodies and is problematic. From newborns and senior citizens to weekend warriors and gym fanatics we have an approach for everyone.

Can chiropractic help with tension in young children and how?

Parents can often tell if their young babies are tense or feel uncomfortable. Tension could have happened in utero or during the birthing process, but regardless it can prevent young babies from feeling at ease in their bodies and leads to symptoms like arching back, or being stiff, difficulty to settle down, and a lot of crying. Parents even can notice that their baby has a head movement/resting preference or their arm might not move the same from side to side, for example keeping their arm bent or a difference of movement when putting clothing on.

Does insurance cover chiropractic visits?

Most health extended plans have chiropractic coverage. Plans varies greatly and it is best to check with your own plans to know the details of your coverage. Our software supports direct billing for Pacific Blue cross and plans under Telus health. You can find participating insurers on the Telus website.

We do not support direct billing for Green Shield or SunLife plans. Patients with those plans pay in the clinic and manually submit their invoices through their respective portal. Reimbursement is usually deposited with 48 hrs of submission.

Will I get adjusted on my first visit?

Yes! During your first visit Dr Marie will go over your health history, bring any details and/or imaging you have related to problem areas. During the physical portion of the visit, Dr Marie will do a postural evaluation, mobility, range of motion and palpation assessment to determine the origin of the pain and problem you are experiencing. Dr Marie sees the body as a whole and will often look into many joints and soft tissues to gather as many details as possible.

During your first adjustment, She will explain which area will be addressed and welcome an open dialogue to ensure her patient comfort, either with the approach chosen and the pain tolerance when doing manual work.
